The Therapy Frame provides a clinical psychology service to children, young people, adults and families who experience emotional, developmental, learning and mental health difficulties.
Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Maria Silvina Gioseffi, Director of the Therapy Frame, is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and has over 25 years of clinical experience.
Who we are
Maria Silvina Gioseffi
Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Accredited Practitioner, Consultant and Trainer in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy
Specialised in the area of impact of early trauma across the life span.
She has developed a consultation and therapeutic service for children and young people as well as their families who experienced developmental trauma.
Her areas of expertise include attachment and relationship difficulties in birth, foster and adoptive families, post-traumatic stress disorder, bereavement, anxiety, depression, chronic health problems, stress management, self-harm, family crisis, fertility problems, addictions, learning difficulties and disabilities, autistic spectrum disorders and other neurodevelopmental problems (ADHD, motor and communication disorders).
Maria Silvina is a former manager of Fostering and Adoption Services in a local authority and a past Chair of a Fostering Panel. She has led a therapeutic team for adopted children, children in care and leaving care.
Her lengthy experience in the NHS includes working in CAMHS; creating and developing an Adoption Psychology Service; leading and managing a multi-disciplinary team providing complex assessments and therapeutic interventions for children in care; contributing to the specialist training of other health, education and social care professionals; and supervising clinical, trainee and assistant psychologists.
Maria Silvina is a bilingual Accredited Trainer in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) and delivers training in the UK and internationally to Spanish and English speaking communities.

Therapy |
A variety of psychological assessment and therapy services for adults, children and parents can be provided in the confidential and comfortable consulting rooms at The Brightstone Clinic in Sandbach, South Cheshire. Alternatively, a convenient location in Newcastle-under-Lyme at the Emotions Clinic offers a beautiful atmosphere for individual, dyadic, family and group therapy sessions. A specific therapy service is available to Spanish-speaking clients in their native language. Please enquire regarding other possible locations in the North West region. |
Consultation |
Consultation services to adult clients, couples, parents, carers, adoptive parents, education (schools, pre-school and nurseries, college), local authorities , fostering and adoption services and other professionals are available. Normally first consultation sessions are 90 minutes long to allow time for a rich discussion about the presenting difficulties using a systemic model. |
Training |
A variety of training and workshops are offered to birth parents, foster carers, adoptive parents, Education, Health staff and a wide range of public and independent organisations. Examples of training topics are:
